This is the second album to be released by German synth-pop band Beborn Beton. The album originally came out in 1994. It has been digitally remastered and re-released. Of all of the Beborn Beton albums so far, this is my least favorite. Their other releases don't feature a bad track on them. However, this album has quite a few that just aren't that good. Also, it includes three remixes that don't sound that much different from the originals. You basically get twelve original songs on this album. Of the twelve I really like "Lost Little Robot", "No Promise", "Bountyhunter", "Encounting" and "Finally". These five songs are traditional Beborn Beton with smooth and energetic electronic sequencing, melodic synths and rapid fire drum programming combined with clean harmony driven deep accented male singing. Some have dance floor energy rhythms and beats while others are a little more relaxed with harmony. The other seven songs here just aren't that interesting. They have their moments, but they also have boring structures to them. Most are extremely slow where they put you to sleep. They just don't sound finished or polished. I would think that this was Beborn Beton's first album considering that it just isn't as good as their other work. The songs that I mentioned I like are excellent, but it's too bad that there are only five of them. The rest of the album I just skip past. Having three other excellent Beborn Beton albums, I rarely ever have an urge to play this one. But the five songs here that I like make it worth putting in every once in a while.

This is Beborn Beton's follow up to their excellent "Nightfall" album. While not quite as good as "Nightfall", it's still very well done featuring some of their best material yet. Beautiful melodies and harmonies mixed with energetic layered electronic sequencing, orchestrated synths, drum programming and clean accented deep male vocals create the songs found here. Most of the tracks could work on the dance floor, while a couple are a little more mellow. There isn't a bad song here. This album features a slightly darker edge with some slightly gothic sounds in the background. This band prove once again that they know how to make some extremely smooth and polished electronic music. The catchy rhythms and beats pull you in instantly and you will catch yourself humming these songs after you listen to them. The lyrics for the most part are well written and you can hear what the singer is saying very clearly. I still feel that their previous release "Nightfall" included a little more diversity from song to song. The songs on this album don't stand out quite as much, but they're still very well produced and have some great elements in them. The band seems to have mellowed out a bit because there are a lot of medium paced songs here and not as many high energy packed dance tracks. There are a few that do have a sci-fi techno dance feel to them and these are the ones that stand out. Overall, this is a very quality album that offers some great songs. Fans of synth-pop music can't pass this up.

This is the debut album from Germany synth-pop band Beborn Beton. It has been digitally remastered and re-released. I'm not sure if it's in limited supply or not, but I would suggest that you pick it up right away just in case. When I first played this CD and heard the first track "Myers Flat" it had an older more amateur sound to it. The recording quality is scratchy and overall distorted. It just didn't seem to have a polish to it. While the song is decent, these factors kind of took away from it. I was worried that the entire album was going to sound like this. I was wrong. As soon as track two "The Edge Of Wisdom" begins, the Beborn Beton sound that I love from their 1996 "Nightfall" album comes into play. Clean and polished fast paced layered electronic sequencing, rhythmatic drum machine beats, beautiful synth melodies and crisp accented harmonic male singing. From this track on the album remains consistant with some of the best electronic songs that I have ever heard before. The way the band blends everything together in each of the tracks is quite impressive. The music is many layers upon layers of different things happening while the vocals sing along perfectly. There's a lot of diversity here as the band mixes energetic dance tracks with more melodic slower paced balads. Everything they create is beautiful and uplifting with powerful passion. It's full of emotion combined with rhythms and beats that will not allow you to resist from moving your body to them. With seventeen full length tracks with no filler or remixes to get in the way of the fun, this album cannot be missed by any electronic music purist. This band are masters of this genre, and I can't wait for what they release next.

Right when this album begins you know that you're listening to extremely quality and polished music. This band has it together and really know their stuff. The electronic sequencing is smooth and the synths are simply breathtaking. The vocals are clean, and the singer can carry a melody unlike I've ever heard before. He has a lot of range to his voice and shows it off on each and every track presented here. There's an uplifting and very positive vibe delivered that just makes you feel good inside. The songs play at a pace where they're energetic and could quite possibly work on the dance floor. There's a lot of changes that come and go to prevent anything from ever sounding repetitive. Also, each song presents it's own feel to allow everything a different and enjoyable listen. There are driving rhythms and beats combined with harmony and melody that you just can't resist. This is an emotional journey through a world of beauty. While I'm not usually a big fan of synth-pop music due to it sounding a bit too tame, this band manages to create this kind of music with style and an edge. There's not a bad track here. They're each equally impressive. Once you start this CD it grabs hold of you and doesn't release its grip until it's over. The layering of sounds makes this music come alive. It's full and complete without anything missing. If you like a more uplifting and lighter sounding electronic musical style that is clean and well produced, this album is a must.
