Deadfirst is a heavy rock band that sounds similar
to Orgy. Chugging guitars,
deep bass lines, slamming drums and slight electronic programming make
up the music as male vocals sing and shout over it all.
This five song demo is very well produced. It really surprises me that this band isn’t signed to a major label yet with their music being played on the radio and MTV. They sound a lot better than the majority of crap the radio and MTV plays these days.
While the band isn’t really doing anything new or different, they do excel in what they set out to do which is make solid energy driven emotional heavy rock songs. Every musician in this band is talented and play their instruments exceptionally well. The singer has a good voice and sings with a lot of range from melodic crooning to all out rage.
My only complaint with this band is the same for most bands like them, they don’t incorporate enough electronic programming into their music. While I understand that they want to rock first and foremost, the electronics add something extra to their sound. So it would have been nice if they were mixed in the songs more.
The bottom line is that this is a very quality heavy rock band that should have no problem landing a major label deal.
