This two man band create industrial music that blends elements of EBM, techno and rock into one to make for an extremely enjoyable listen. They mix it up on each and every song to prevent anything from sounding stale or repetitive. The CD kicks off with two excellent dark electro/techno instrumentals. The songs then turn into heavy and aggressive rhythm and beat beasts with electronic programming going haywire along with brutal drum assaults and thrashing guitar riffs. The vocals sing and scream along with the music keeping it intense. There are even beautiful female vocals that join in from time to time to make things even more interesting. The variety delivered on this CD is outstanding. However, the CD loses its edge toward the end. The song "What Dreams Are Made Of" is a funky disco song. The song "Big Gimmick" is an empty sounding experimental/noise track with Devo type vocals. And the song "Image N" is a funky experimental distorted spoken word track. These three songs are out of place on this CD. But when all is said and done, this is a very good album with a lot of quality songs on it to enjoy. I just hope that on the next Ghost in the Machine CD the band concentrates more on making serious dark electro-industrial music. Because weird funky experimental music just doesn't suit them well in my opinion.

This maxi-single contains two tracks from Ghost in the Machine's "The Haunting Begins..." CD, six remixes of songs from that same album and two remix tracks from their debut EP. All of the tracks delivered here are fast paced energy fueled dark techno that would be great for clubs. Frantic electronic rhythms and beats malfunction in a frenzy while male vocals scream and shout over it all. It's definitely great stuff indeed. If you're looking for a dark techno CD, this is a good one to choose.
