Album: "Our Little
Secret" (1997) |

Reviewed by: Darklight Lords Of Acid return once again with their original blend of techno and rock hybrid music combined with female vocals and pointless, but humorous, lyrics about sex. Fans of bands such as The Electric Hellfire Club and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult will appreciate what this album has to offer. Every song is fast paced and energy packed designed for the dance floor. The rhythms and beats are constructed with techno style electronics, synths, samples, guitars and heavy drum assaults. The singing blends with the music great. Most of the material delivered here is catchy and will hold your interest. Some songs are fairly aggressive and just plain rock, while others are a bit more techno based and have a slight funk feel to them. My main complaint is that some of the songs are too short ending before they seem finished. Also, the lyrics don't really have any meaning to them. They are good for a laugh a few times, but lose their edge a bit after repeated listens. My favorite songs include: "Rubber Doll", "Cybersex", "Doggie Tom", "The Power Is Mine" and "You Belong To Me". The only songs that I dislike include: "Lover", "Pussy" and "Spank My Booty". The bottom line is that this is a good album if you're looking for upbeat electro dance music with humor.

Album: Voodoo-U"
(1994) |

Reviewed by: Darklight This is fast paced energy packed techno dance music with electronic rhythms and beats. There are female vocals, and they sing great with the music. Most of the songs have humorous lyrics about sex. None of this music can be taken too seriously. But it's extremely addictive with hooks and grooves that will get your body moving. The best songs to be found here are "The Crab Louse", "She And Mr. Jones", "Young Boys", "Out Comes The Evil", "Mister Machoman", "Drink My Honey", and "Blowing Up Your Mind". These songs will stick with you long after you have listened to them. The songs "Voodoo-U", "Do What You Wanna Do", "Special Moments", and "Dirty Willy" are decent, but are a bit repetitive. And "Marijuana In Your Brain" is a slow paced reggae song that just doesn't belong on this album. The bottom line is that there is a lot of variety to be found here.
