Monkey Monks is an extremely harsh and brutal industrial metal band that dish out aggressive assaults upon your senses. The music is a blend of distorted thrashing guitars, slamming drum beats, electronic programming and samples all rolled into one. Extremely deep growling male vocals shout out the lyrics in a rage over the music. That’s basically it for each and every song here. There’s not a whole lot of variety.

For the most part the songs are purely guitars, drums and shouting male vocals. The electronics are barely used in the music, and even when they are they are so drowned out by everything else they can barely even be heard. So it’s almost pointless to even have electronic programming in this music.

I do admit that some songs are a little more interesting than others offering better rhythms, beats and structures with an overall darker and haunting edge. But, for the most part, this entire album sounds exactly the same from beginning to end never offering much diversity from track to track.

If you are a fan of raw thrashing industrial metal music, then this is definitely a disc you should check out.
