Monkeys With Handguns is a four member heavy industrial rock
band that blends elements of Godhead,
Marilyn Manson, Nine
Inch Nails, Orgy and Uranium
235 into their music.
While there is electronic programming, sampling and haunting synthscapes in
their music; the heavy thrashy guitars, deep bass and slamming drums along
with the somewhat high-pitched yelling male vocals usually take center
stage. But the mixture of everything works well making for some interesting
and creative rock music.
I have no idea why this band isn’t signed to a mojor record label as they
have commercial rock appeal along with great production values.
Basically, this album sounds like something that would already be available
at every major record store across America. I would expect to be hearing
their songs on the radio and seeing their videos on MTV. The band members
even have the look that the commercial industrial rock music scene is
into today. They would fit right in with Coal Chamber, Godhead,
Marilyn Manson, Orgy, etc.
The bottom line is that the songs here are good. They’re nothing really
original or different, but they’re still solid and put together well.
Industrial rock fans would really like this band.
