Album: "Broadcast
Quality Belligerence" (1999) |

Reviewed by: Darklight This album just
doesn't do a lot for me. It's rather typical American sounding
electro industrial music with techno, drum & bass and funk mixed
in with boring distorted whispered vocals that never change. Actually,
that's the problem I have with this entire album, the songs
never seem to
change. Sure they have little differences here and there, but
nothing that allows one song to stand out from the other.
The music is not
very layered or full due to it lacking the use of a lot of
synth melodies. Everything comes off sounding repetitive with generic
electronic
programming and drum beats. It's all fairly slow paced. Nothing
is really aggressive or has enough energy for the dance floor. The
music has a mellow vibe to it that bores me. The entire album just drags
along never picking up anywhere.
There is one song
here that is very impressive. It's called "Marked", and
is very dark like european electro industrial music. It has haunting
music with
angry distorted vocals. This song proves that this band can make
some serious music without a funk flavor. It's too bad this is about
the only song that they do it on here.
