Test is a heavy metal band that includes very slight electronics into
the mix. The guitars, bass, drums and raw throated deep yelling and
screaming vocals are what make up the songs delivered here. Each of
the tracks only play for about three minutes. So this is thrash metal
for the most part. But there is slight melody and changes in each of
the tracks as well. The songs aren't boring. It's just that they go
by too quickly and don't sound new. The most electronic track here is
the cover of the Berlin classic "Sex". Actually, it's the best song
on the album. This is because it's a cover of a good song and it uses
a lot of electronics. But it also proves that this band could be a lot
better if they decided to tone down on the heavy metal influences and
concentrated more on the industrial ones. As they are now they are a
rather generic dark, angry and aggressive metal band that doesn't really
offer enough fresh elements to allow them to stand out of the crowd.
The bottom line is that if you like bands such as Clay People and Fear
Factory, you will like this album a lot.
