Album: "TMOTD"
(1997) |

Reviewed by: Darklight The problem that I had with the previous Scar Tissue album is that the majority of it was instrumentals. Only a couple of songs included vocals. Well, this album is no different. Almost all of the songs found here are instrumentals. I think that only one or two actually have vocals. The music seems darker and more aggressive than their previous work. But it's also a lot more amateurish sounding. It's basically just noise. The songs here are created with "malfunctioning" electronics and samples. Nothing to get too excited over. Every song basically sounds the same. I can't tell when one song has ended and another has begun. If you want an album full of noisy scratchy messy electronic sounds, this would be a good choice for you. Otherwise, stay away from it.

Album: "Separator"
(1996) |

Reviewed by: Darklight This album delivers six songs with vocals, ten instrumentals, and one remix. I don't mind a couple of instrumentals on an album, but to flood an album with them is just plain wrong. This is your typical electro industrial music created with synths, electronic programming, drum machines, and samples. The rhythms and beats are catchy, but do have a dark edge to them. Everything is medium to fast paced. I feel that most of the instrumentals seem as if they were made to have vocals in them, but unfortunately they don't. They are good instrumentals, but don't seem complete without singing in them. The six songs with vocals are nothing spectacular. The singing is basically just extremely distorted screaming overlaying the music. This band doesn't bring anything new to the industrial music scene. They are very generic. If you like instrumentals a lot, then you might want to give this album a listen.
