Album: "Eternacate"

Reviewed by: Darklight I liked the debut release by this band, and I also like this follow up as well. However, I don't feel that this album quite has the edge of their first effort. While the material here is good, it just doesn't stand out as much. What is delievered here is fairly heavy guitar industrial music with a good mix of rhythms and beats combined with melody. The songs are structured mainly with guitar, bass and drums but also include a good helping of electronics and synths as well. The singing is clean and slightly high in tone. The singer sings melodically at times and shouts with slight anger as well to blend in a lot of emotion to what he has to say. The songs do manage to sound a lot different from each other and are all aggressive for the most part. But there are some slower moments as well to add variety. This band doesn't really deliver anything new to this genre of music. Nothing here is too creative or different from what you have already heard many times before. This is basically heavy rock music with electronics added in as an afterthought. Also, the songs here go by fairly quickly making this entire album end before you feel that it should. But the quality of the music is well done and there isn't a song that you will want to skip past. If you're a fan of Coldwave music, you will like this album.

Album: "Trust
And Obey" (1995) |

Reviewed by: Darklight This is a very angry and aggressive guitar driven electro punk band that rocks. Every song on this album kicks-ass, and all sound different from each other. The music is compiled of thrashy guitars, drum beats, electronics, synths, and slightly distorted vocals. The songs are melodic one minute, and full of screaming rage the next. But they are all extremely catchy. They have great rhythms and beats. The changing vocal styles are outstanding as well. The guitars really stand out on this album. These are not just generic sampled guitar riffs. These are live guitars, and it's proven. This is the type of album that you put in your stereo and crank extremely loud. Especially on the song "Spree". It's the angriest song to be found here, and easily the best. But each song on this album is great for its own reasons. The variety is simply amazing. You have to get this album.
