This review is for two four song demo CDs by the band Triggerpimp. Triggerpimp is an aggressive industrial rock band that features thrashy guitars, bass, drums, electronic programming and angry male vocals. The best way to describe their sound would be a mixture of Nine Inch Nails and Stabbing Westward. They sound very similar to both of those bands. So much in fact, that if I heard their music on the radio, that's who I would think they were. But that's not to say that they don't bring their own elements into the mix as well. They rock hard and heavy with a lot of energy and release a good blend of thrashiness with electronics. They're a very quality band with one of the better sounding productions I've heard for an unsigned artist. Both of their demos sound as if they were professionally produced with that big budget major recording label polish. I can't imagine why they haven't been signed to a label yet as their music has commercial success written all over it.
While their sound might not be original, it is indeed of a high quality. They dish out aggressive heavy industrial rock music just as good as the big names out there. I personally like their music more than that of bands such as Gravity Kills, Nine Inch Nails, Orgy, Stabbing Westward, etc. There's definitely a market out there for this style of music, and Triggerpimp is one of the better bands I've heard making it lately. I really wouldn't be surprised if I heard them on a rock radio station soon as they just have a sound that would fit right in with the current heavy rock music scene. The bottom line is that anyone who likes industrial rock music such as Gravity Kills, Nine Inch Nails, Orgy, or Stabbing Westward will like Triggerpimp.
