Reviewed by: Darklight The Union Underground is another typical alternative heavy rock band hitting the mainstream music scene. There's nothing new or original about the songs presented on this CD. They're your run-of-the-mill cookie cutter guitar rock music. There are elements of Alice In Chains, Marilyn Manson and Powerman 5000 in this music. What is delivered here are straight forward hard and heavy guitar trashing rock songs with deep bass lines, hard drum beats and singing/screaming male vocals. All of the songs are rather short obviously designed for radio play. This band isn't bad for the most part, and they do show a lot of potential on this album. But the problem is that there just isn't anything different about them. They create by-the-book formulatic structured rock music that has been done to death already. This band will appeal to those who can't get enough commercial mainstream rock music. But anyone else will be bored with what this disc has to offer.
